2022 Summer Camps
WHAT
Our hands-on robotics camps are 4-day programs focusing on fundamental building and programming skills, games, and fun challenges. Each camp will provide information on age appropriate competitions and how to get involved and stay engaged in robotics. Camps are staffed by NASA ERC staff and college interns sponsored by the IV&V Program and the WV Space Grant Consortium, and hosted at partner sites across the state.
WHO
This year, we're offering two age groups to extend our camps to younger learners.
Ages 6-8, 9AM-12PM; LEGO WeDo 2.0, Coding Express, and Makey Makey
Ages 9-14, 9AM-4PM; VEXIQ, Sphero, and RAD
Space is limited, and we will cover the same material in each camp. We do not recommend signing up for two camps. The camps are a basic introduction to the platforms, so no experience is required. Coaches looking for guidance for more experienced students should reach out to schedule a coach/team training.
WHEN & WHERE

June 6 - June 10; Fairmont State University, Fairmont
June 13 - June 17; BridgeValley CTC, South Charleston

COSTS
We suggest a donation to cover our costs. The suggested donation is $50/student for the half-day camp (ages 6-8), or $100/student for the all-day camp (ages 9-14). This includes a morning and/or afternoon snack, use of robots, tablets, and all materials. Campers must bring their own lunch. We will collect donations on the first day of the camp. Cash or Checks made out to Fairmont State University are acceptable.
